Only the stones remain
© ️Lidia Popa
We will leave one by one
sadder and more lonely
maybe with a flower on the chest,
a wax cross in his hands
and a psalm to keep in mind
pray over
for the rest
twinned with pain
washed with bitter tears.
We will leave one by one
like a cloud in the sky,
to the seas beyond
nowhere.
Only the stones remain
to protect the clay.
Here he rests in eternity
the poet without shadow.
