Yatti Sadeli’s Poetry
I ASKED
I asked a passing bird
Praying for enlightenment on a dark night
Where is he . . . . ?
None got an answer
I asked the wind that was blowing
That fills the void
Where is he . . . ?
Don’t know where he is
I asked the rain
Which flushes all the time
Where is he . . . . ?
Don’t even want to answer
I asked the waves
The ferocious one hit the beach
Where is he . . . . ?
Don’t know, he replied
Lastly, I asked the mist-shrouded mountain,
Also in the morning dew that clings to the tips of the leaves
Where is he . . . . ?
He said he was
In a Barzah Nature in Eternity
I look to the future
Unknowingly my heart was crying
Never looking for him again
Everything will disappear in the dream.
