Penelope in Pamvotida

The little bee saw
her white five-petaled lilies.
They perfume her innocence
it is not naivety
they are the golden stamens
that stand upright
as the Cyclopean walls
of her strong soul.

Τhere in her castle
as a Nereid dances
with flutes that enchant
bravery, decency, empathy!

She weaves like Penelope
in the Pamvotida lake
a spidery, feathered dress
although her lover
has stopped seeing her
and he is passing her by!

What if Odysseus does not come to her?
A multitude of suitors
in the stone castle
of the hill of Kiapha
they besiege her, they claim her
but Penelope escapes.

She climbs
on the brilliant chariot of the sun
to find her beloved
in the depths of tomorrow
a strong love  awaits her soul…
