BLACK ROSE

An indignant woman carries a Black Rose,
Close to her heavy heart.
Sometimes, her periodic endeavors,
Cause incredible pain.
She’s given all she could.

How often her battles pass unrecognized?
For, as long as she carries the Black Rose,
Closer to heart,
She bears the burden of resentment and fear.
Fear nourishes her offspring, antagonism for forgiveness.

A simple Black Rose,
Unleashes a diligent mother’s grief,
She struggles to produce her most essential ambition,
Freedom, unity, and love,

What she gives,
She’s looking to receive.
What she lacks,
She’s looking to collect.

A woman’s displeasure stirs wrath,
She works her heart to the bone,
As freely as her bruised fingers,
When she diminishes discomfort in her efforts,
Is the day she abandons the Black Rose.

Twilight Angel
An angel stands in the twilight on a towering balcony,
At midnight alone on the balcony,
The angel visits a lonely man in the window.
A husband in melancholy of losing his wife,

She died soon before,
From a dire sickness called grief.
She was a loving, but selfish, soul,
But the grief she carried was another man’s grief.

There is no greater misery than human emotions.
Emotions sometimes poison the soul.
A gold apple,
Dying in to a black apple feeds innocent souls,
So the angel watches the grieving man,
During his regret and remorse over a bitter spirit,
But what lies behind his woe?
Not only had the man caused his wife’s grief beforehand.
But he caused the former man’s grief by slaying her lover.
