WE WILL NEVER SHIPWRECK AGAIN.

You and I, sitting here,
on this isolated rock,
where the wind, undaunted,
moves SEA AIR,
we are still together.

So, we observe
the raging waves,
as they did on
those days that marked
our lives.

Now, we wait for
the calm to arrive, in silence,
still holding hands,
despite the debris
that surrounds us.

It is thus, strongly,
embraced
by our new destiny,
we will
never shipwreck in our souls.

2) NIGHT-TIME CIRCLE OF THOUGHTS.

In the depths
of the night,
my thoughts
reveal themselves
in my mind.
They are all there,
knocking.
They crowd together,
one on top of the other,
mingling,
blending together,
good and bad.
They go away
and come back,
becoming
urgent.
My soul
absorbs
their essence,
soaks up
their humus
and sinks
into the anguished
circle
that encloses them.
Then it attempts
an escape,
but gets bogged down
together
with the mind.
The heart,
then,
seeks
a loophole,
allowing
a faint ray
of hope
to penetrate
from the bright
glimmer of a new dawn. © Concetta La Placa
